When I started my online business

career a couple of years ago, I was

under the impression that if you

followed the right formula, you

could be sitting pretty with great

cashflow pretty quickly.

Well, I was mistaken.  Trial and error

and lots of learning later, I now know

that there are many, many ways to

earn income online.  It depends on

how you'd like to do it, and what

you are willing to do to achieve it.

What do I mean? 

Well, if you have

no significant budget to spend on

building a business,  you have to

work harder to reach your target

market (do you know what that

is?) ...write articles, hang out

on social sites and forums, learn

how to create a free offer to attract

people to sign up to your email

list, learn how to write powerful

ads and then keep offering emails

full of valuable content to keep

folks on your list and hopefully

offer them an item they will like to

buy..

You could become an affiliate of

a company to promote their products

and then earn commissions.  Or, you

could create your own product to

promote.

It all sounds pretty simple...BUT,

here comes the "but",  it will take

time to learn it all, build an infrastructure

and maintain it.

The same is true even if you have

money to purchase advertising.

Where should you advertise, how

often, what words pull people

towards you?  PPC, PPV or

safelists? 

I also came to learn that you

will most likely need multiple

streams of income....in other

words, don't put all your eggs

in one basket..lol

Find more than one item to

offer, and multiple ways to

offer it.

It is not a sprint!  It helps

to get some guidance.

on the internet for creating multiple streams of

income from home.

In most cases, you sign on, get a little training

about some products, and maybe get a

cookie-cutter website that all the people in

that company are using.

That's all fine and dandy.  Except, you must

set yourself apart in some fashion from

all the rest.  Research shows it is more

effective to have your own website or

blogging platform as a location to

brand yourself as the "go-to guy", the

expert with the solutions people are looking

for in your particular niche.

There are many free website building

sites available to use with a point-and-click

user friendly environment. I like webs.com

and weebly.com, but I have also played

with Mozy.com and Homestead.com.

You must find a way to drive traffic to your

website as well. With over  5 million

websites out there,  how in the world

will anyone find YOU?

Learning how to attract people to your

website is critical.

There are several ways to do it for

no cost, or low cost  through article

marketing, blogging, social websites

 i.e,  Facebook

and Twitter, MySpace and using other

tools like HubPages and Squidoo.

At any rate, though you may be all

excited about your new business,

and ready to sell products to the world,

nobody will know you are out there

until you learn how to make them notice

you.
